Graduation Application

Applying for graduation is the process used to evaluate completion of degree or certificate requirements and award academic credentials. Submission of a graduation application is required for all degrees and certificates.

Purpose of the Graduation Application

The graduation application notifies Bay College that a degree or certificate is nearing completion and initiates the credential review process.

Completion of coursework alone does not automatically award a degree or certificate. A graduation application must be submitted for academic records to be evaluated and a credential to be awarded.

Application Timeline

Graduation applications should be submitted during the semester prior to completing remaining degree or certificate requirements. Submitting an application early allows sufficient time for review and resolution of any outstanding requirements.

How to Apply

The graduation application is available through my.baycollege.edu:

  1. Log in to my.baycollege.edu
  2. Navigate to Academics
  3. Select the Graduation Application card
  4. Complete and submit the application

Eligibility

The graduation application is available only to students who meet established eligibility requirements.

The application displays only the degree or certificate program(s) in which a student is currently enrolled. Students enrolled in multiple programs may see more than one program listed.

Eligibility is evaluated separately for each program. As a result, a graduation application may be available for one program while another program is not yet eligible. Some students may not see a graduation application if eligibility requirements have not been met.

Degree Progress

Degree progress and remaining program requirements can be reviewed through Self-Service.

Regular review of degree progress helps ensure that all requirements are completed as expected and allows for timely graduation application submission.

Commencement

The graduation application includes questions regarding commencement participation.

Bay College holds one commencement ceremony each year, on the Saturday following the last day of the Spring semester.

Participation in commencement is optional and separate from the awarding of a degree or certificate. Information regarding commencement participation is collected as part of the graduation application process.
