Bay College welcomes the community to join in the Third Annual Cards of Hope: A Crafting Event to Support Veterans.
For the third year, Bay College is partnering with the Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center (OGJVAMC) to support Veterans. Students, faculty, and staff at Bay College, as well as any interested community members, are invited to make cards that will be included in care packages sent to Veterans during National Suicide Awareness month in September.
According to Suicide Prevention Coordinator Mary Campbell, "We rarely realize how deeply our actions affect others; even the smallest gesture can have a meaningful impact. These cards are a simple, yet personal way for us to show our love and appreciation for our Veterans, reminding them that they are not alone. "
Card-making events will be September 24, 2026, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. (EST) at the Bay College Library on the Escanaba campus, and September 30, 2026, from 10-11:30 a.m. (CST) in the Lower Commons on the Iron Mountain Campus. Drop in during either or both events and get creative to provide hope to Veterans through these homemade cards. All card making supplies will be provided and there will be snacks at both events.
