Bay College’s Liftoff event is designed to help new and returning students launch into the semester fully prepared. From meeting with an advisor and registering for classes to exploring support services and getting your questions answered, Liftoff is your all-in-one opportunity to get on track. It’s a fun, informative way to check off your to-do list and feel confident about starting college. Families are welcome—and depending on the session, you might even enjoy some tasty refreshments!

Q: What is Liftoff, anyway?
A: Liftoff is your one-stop event to get everything squared away for your first semester
at Bay College! From registering for classes to connecting with support services,
you’ll walk out feeling confident and ready to roll.
Q: Who should attend Liftoff?
A: If you’re a new or returning student who wants a smooth start to the semester,
Liftoff is for you! Especially helpful for students who want extra support with class
registration, financial aid, or navigating college systems.
Q: What will I do at Liftoff?
A: Here’s a peek at what’s in store:
- Meet with an advisor to register for your fall classes
- Get help navigating online learning platforms like Blackboard
- Talk with Career Services if you’re unsure about your major or career direction
- Check off your to-do list: financial aid, transcripts, placement testing, books, and more
- Take a campus tour to get familiar with your new academic home
- Connect with support programs, like TRIO, Office of Accessibility and other helpful departments
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: Yes! Here’s your checklist:
- Photo ID
- Your student ID number (if you have it)
- Questions for your advisor or financial aid
- A list of any documents you still need to submit (like transcripts)
Q: Will I be registering for classes?
A: Absolutely! You’ll meet with a trusted advisor who will help you build your class
schedule based on your goals and degree plan.
Q: Can my family come?
A: Families are welcome to attend! While students are the focus, we know your support
system matters. Some sessions may be student-only, but we’ll have helpful info for
guests, too.
Q: Is there food?
A: For in-person Liftoffs, we often provide light refreshments—or even a taco bar!

A: No problem! You’ll leave with contact info for advisors, financial aid, and other
go-to people. We’re here to support you long after Liftoff ends.
Q: How do I sign up?

A: No worries! Let us know and we’ll help you find an alternative time or set up a
one-on-one appointment
